The 15th edition of the WTO’s Advanced Course on Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Measures took place at the WTO headquarters between 28 October and 15 November.
Addressing the SPS Committee on 7 November, Director-General Roberto Azevêdo underlined the key role of the SPS Agreement in the field of food safety and public health.
The advanced course helps participants develop action plans that address SPS-related difficulties in their countries. Since its inception in 2005, the course has trained over 350 government officials, benefiting altogether 124 developing countries, 38 of them least developed countries.
