ClimDev Fund supports Africa’s leading climate centers, ICPAC Kenya

As climate disasters continue to threaten economic growth and recovery in Africa, the ClimDev Fund at the African Development Bank is investing in regional climate and weather observation networks, which enable countries to access high-quality climate information, and build the capacity to produce, share and use this information to address the damages caused by severe weather.

Nairobi, Kenya is home to ICPAC, one of five regional climate centers supported by the ClimDev Fund. Here, some of Africa’s best climate experts develop information products in weather forecasting and early warning systems to help to ensure that the Horn of Africa adequately navigates the adverse impacts of climate change.
