Interview: John Weekes

From 1948 to 1994, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) provided the rules for much of world trade even though it was a provisional arrangement and organization. Ambassador John Weekes, who represented Canada in the GATT and later in the WTO, talks about what led negotiators to create the World Trade Organization in 1995, and how it evolved until today. Amb Weekes was interviewed by WTO spokesperson Keith Rockwell.
