2 years ago, Samuel Moenga was diagnosed with kidney disease at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Eldoret. This meant that he had to travel all the way from Nyamira County for dialysis twice a week. A cost he says was too much for him to bear. Luckily, he learnt that Kisii County Referral Hospital was offering dialysis services and proceeded to register himself for the services. Later, he was informed that Nyamira County Hospital was also offering renal services. Being closer home, Samuel settled on having his sessions at Nyamira County Hospitals. Samuel is grateful to the National Government for bringing the services closer to the people. At the hospital, he says, the nurses are kind, caring and professional. His dialysis bills and medication is also catered for by NHIF.
